Nathan Apple began working here at the lab in August 2001. Currently he is working on developing software to enable the Hyperscan experiments. Nathan received a B.S. in Computer Science from UT Austin.

Krystle Bartley joined the HNL in June of 2007. As part of her duties as a Research Assistant, Krystle is involved in the screening and scanning of participants for our fMRI experiments and administering psychological assessments. Krystle received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Xavier University of Louisiana in 2003 and she is currently working on her Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Houston - Clear Lake. Her previous research experiences at MD Anderson Cancer Center, Indiana University, and UT-Houston involved work with EEG and EMG indices of eye-blink conditioning and startle paradigms, clinical trials for smoking cessation, and a longitudinal study investigating the development of cognitive, language and social skills in full-term and pre-term children.

Claudia Bracero began working at the HNL in February 2004. She is currently the HNL's research coordinator. Claudia graduated from Pennsylvania State University in 1997, with a B.S. in Human Development and Family Studies. Her prior work experience includes group work at a community mental health agency and assisting with human attachment research at the University of Maryland.

Carrie Howard joined the HNL in February of 2008. As a Research Coordinator, Carrie screens and scans participants for the fMRI experiments conducted in the laboratory. Carrie received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology in 2002 and received her Master of Arts degree in Behavioral Science from the University of Houston - Clear Lake in 2006. Her previous research experiences at the University of Houston - Clear Lake, UT-Houston, the Neurosensory Center and in the Molecular and Human Genetics Department at Baylor College of Medicine include researching the efficacy of nicotine vaccination as a possible treatment for smoking cessation, neurological examining and testing of ALS patients, a longitudinal study investigating various intestinal irritants exposed to international travelers, and pinpointing earlier genetic signaling of the Huntington's Disease gene.

Katy Kemp began working at the HNL in January of 2008. She completed her B.A. in Psychology and Spanish at the University of Texas in December of 2007. As a research technician, she helps coordinate and run various fMRI experiments in the lab. Her prior research experience includes infant studies in language development at the University of Texas.

Justin King is the network administrator for the center and began working here in August 2001. He is responsible for creating and managing the computer network at the HNL. Justin studied Computer Science at the University of Texas in Austin.
Pat Martinez has been with Baylor since November of 1998 and joined the HNL in September of 2004. She is the Sr. Administrative Assistant for the HNL. Some of her duties include SAP document management, annual budget preparation and monitoring, schedule management, research participant recruitment and screening, as well as procurement management.
Mark Ross began work in the HNL in January 2003. He is the operations manager for the HNL and MRI service center. He is also the web administrator for the HNL. Mark received his B.B.A. in Management Information Systems from The University of Houston in 2007.

Jae Shin began working at the HNL in February 2002. Currently, he is working on developing Hyperscan software along with Jason and Nathan. Jae received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Rice University in 1995.

Jason White is the HNL's lead programmer and analyst; he began working here in July 2002. Currently Jason is working on developing Hyperscan software along with Nathan and Jae. Jason received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering in 1994 and has been programming ever since.
